Finally a day that wasn't busy or raining this week Warsash Sunset Just about beat the sun back from work today - the nights are getting later as spring approaches

Training night is always hard work but really rewarding Utilita Bowl - by nightfall Venue isn't too shabby either

Today marks the first day of the 6 nations - at least for me as I am neither Irish or French (they played on Thursday). Wales rugby shirt At the time of taking this image Wales had yet to be humbled at Twickenham - but that did transpire. Fingers crossed for the rest of the tournament.

A return to the Swanwick Marina to catch the sun going down today Swanwick at Sunset This one I was really happy with - I've been here on a number of occasions in recent weeks and each time its different to capture - perhaps something I should do throughout the year

When I left the house to go take this, I had something a little different in mind. Much the same image but I guess with less boat traffic and more reflection and romantic lights etc. The Jolly Sailor Public House in Swanwick I like the way it turned out - just perhaps not the image I imagined before I got there.

A little trip back from work via Mayflower park and an industrial view of the waterfront Cranes on Southampton Water from Mayflower Park Just caught at the moment a sunny (ish) sunset was taking hold and some storm clouds were rolling in I lived a lot closer to the port of Southampton back in the days of my first project and used to regularly pop across and see the differing sights on offer at different times of year.

I have been trying to recreate one of my favourite pictures from the last project 365 with little success. This is the best I could do today - what happens when you spin a coin and slow the shutter speed down, along with using flash. A 2p coin spins in motion It wasnt a bad replica - I'm going to start posting some blogs of by favourite images from the prior project over the course of the next few weeks.

Water, but not the coast. A little oasis in the housing estates around the junior school today. Coldeast Pond and woodland I am reminded when it isn't absolutely chucking it down that I am lucky with the area I live in.

Another day and another spot from where I live. It was windy, cold and raining at this point but I'm not actually sure you can tell from this image. Swanwick Marina I am a little obsessed with the local coastline at the moment. I will branch out and head to the New Forest when time allows - but for the time being I am trying to capture different elements of my local area.

Its rare I get a chance to take the time to look around campus at the University. I've been working there for the better part of 20 years and its still a really eclectic place. Various buildings and art instalations lit up in colours at Highfield Campus - University of Southampton Couldn't pick one out that worked so went for the slightly funky triptych layout with another image in behind.

Another fairly dodgy weather day but I'm incredibly lucky to live where I do. Warsash was a good mix of leisure and industry today - despite the Sunday. Pretty hazy across the south coast today and a big derby in Championship football tomorrow. Being from South Wales - not much interest in that - but I did venture up near to Fort Nelson and got the view across Portsmouth towards the habour. Portsmouth Harbour skyline - with Spinnaker tower front and centre Nice shot this, the spinnaker tower in the landscape, ferries off the back. In harbour fort can be seen to the left and some military vessels in the foreground.
